What's Changed
- The moderators of /v/gaming have abandoned the network
- #gaming is now under the possession of Techtronix staff
- Any "game nights" will now be funneled through the to-be-announced Techtronix gaming group, instead of /v/gaming
What Hasn't Changed
- Channel will continue to function almost like normal
- TeamSpeak will remain unaffected
I'm saddened by having to announce this sort of thing because I hate to see communities leave the network. As it is, the IRC world is full of networks, and not enough communities. Finding communities in itself has been a very difficult task so far, and as far as I am concerned, I've put community searching on the backburner for a bit as I continue to focus on other things. After all, almost all requests get either unanswered or rejected anyways.
I'm trying to keep the majority of the userbase in #Gaming from bouncing to another network because I truly think that Techtronix can move past this nonsense. Just because /v/gaming chose to leave on their own (unannounced), doesn't mean that Techtronix suddenly doesn't have a gaming channel.
Some excerpt from recent logs; that's all I really plan on posting.
10:06:38 AM <Techman> Well, like I said nobody talked to me10:06:57 AM <Techman> I can't do anything to improve your experience here if you can't tell me when there is a problem.10:07:01 AM <~Kadynce> Don't need your approval to leave. I wish you well with your IRC. Really10:07:10 AM <~Kadynce> It isnt anything to do with the IRC10:07:27 AM <~Kadynce> it was us being tagged in during drama that had nothing to do with /v/gaming. we did not appreciate it10:07:43 AM <~Kadynce> I'm sorry it worked out the way it did and I'm sure I'll see you around the other IRCs.
I do not facilitate IRC spam, and I will not give /v/gaming a free ride by gladly telling everyone else where to find them. Advertising another network in the channel topic is one of the most disrespectful things you can do to Techtronix.
